Hi, a 91 Golf 1.6 with direct injection does not exist. All VW/Audi 1.6 Diesel engines have a precombustion chamber. If you 1. preheat your oil with a coolant/fuel temp exchanger 2. replace the ancient fuel hose by a tube or hose with a diameter of at least 10 mm 3. mount new injectors if necessary with a slightly higher opening pressure and 23mm heater plugs 4. avoid engine speeds above 3000 rpm within the first 15 minutes after start you should be able to run your Golf at 100% of rape oil. Depends on climatic circumstances. If you live in northern Canada or Sweden/Siberia you should eventually think it over :-) Good luck! Uli
