Hello Alex, "time is money" and I'm very busy in these weeks, but here are short answers to your both questions: 1.) Your engine is working correctly or incorrectly? I don't know! If the ECU is not working properly, there are possible a lot of pattern indicating defects. One of them is the Problem with the tachometer. Yourself should evaluate how the engine works. Tip: Take annother ECU 0 281 001 078 and compare the caracteristics from engine (cold start, warm start, noise, torque, power, smoke, fuel consumption, ...) and car ( max. speed, ...) between the ECU's. 2.) Sorry, I haven't got informations above the function and quality of Taiwan-Diesel-ECUs. And so I can not give a recommendation for second-hand German- or new-Taiwan-ECUs. Regards Hans F.
